I'm a perfect summer bedding plant. I'm happy as a stand-alone plant in a pot, or I can be grouped with other Mimulus to make a real impact statement in a container or at the front of the border. I have a long flowering period - all summer long! My ancestors were originally from across damp lake and riversides across Northwestern America. I’m very good art absorbing salt from soil, and Native Americans would burn my leaves to add salty flavour to their food. My name means “mimic” because the flowers of some of my other Mimulus relatives look like a face.
