I am a lovely summer plant, a real show-stopper either in a border, or a pot. My tropical flowers last until the first frosts. I trace my ancestors to the American continent, which explains why I can cope with a wide range of weather from hot to cool. My flowers develop on stems from early summer and can last right through to the first frost. I enjoy a good drink, if I'm in the ground I'd be grateful for a mug of water once a week, and every couple of days if I'm in a pot.
